Excellence in Rural Journalism Award 2010

Conditions

• Open to 2009-10 financial members (corporate, individual or country) of the Rural Press Club of Queensland.

• For a single piece of work or a related series, either print, electronic or on-line,  published/broadcast  in the 2009 calendar year.

• Each entry must be accompanied by a background statement of a maximum 300 words detailing the circumstances in which it was produced and any impact or feedback generated.

• The work must be original and be of wide agricultural interest.

• Judging criteria will be style 25 percent, content 50 percent and objectivity/balance 25 percent.

• Only one entry per person.

• Entries must be received by Friday, January 8, 2010.

• Finalists will be invited to attend the Queensland Rural Press Club February function in Brisbane where the winner will be announced.

• The winner to provide a report on their experience for publication on the Rural Press Club website within 14 days of return from overseas.

Prize
 
Return economy air fare and registration to attend the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists  World Congress in, Belgium, April 17 to 21, 2010.

The winning print and electronic entries will also be State finalists for international Star Prize Awards to be announced at the Belgium Conference.

• Submit  entries by mail or email.  Either a tear sheet or PDF file for print entries and a recording of electronic entries as broadcast.

• Details of publication/broadcast program, including date.

• Name and full contact details of entrant.

• A single page CV/work history.

• Entries must be mailed to The Administrator, Queensland Rural Press Club, PO Box 13648, Brisbane 4003 or emailed to admin@ruralpressclub.com.au

• to be received by Friday, January 8, 2010.
