The Rural Press Club of Queensland promotes excellence in rural journalism through its annual award programs.
The Queensland Rural Media Awards are a key initiative of the Rural Press Club and seek to recognise and reward the wonderful contribution of media professionals covering rural and regional issues in Queensland.
The Awards recognise rural stories, photographs and blogs published or broadcast during the year including:
- Excellence in Rural Journalism Award – four (4) categories - print, radio, television and multimedia
- Excellence in Rural Photography Award - three (3) categories - production, people and landscape
- Rural Social Media Award
Congratulations to all our 2016 winners announced on 16 March - see details.
All category winners automatically go on to compete in the national awards organised by the Australian Council of Agricultural Journalists (ACAJ).
The Rural Press Club also sponsors the rural journalism category of the annual Queensland Clarion Awards that are run by the Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance (MEAA).
