The Rural Journalism Hall of Fame celebrates the life, work and passion of Queenslanders who have made a significant contribution to the profession over more than 20 years.
The Rural Journalism Hall of Fame Award celebrates the life, work and passion of Queensland-based rural journalists who have made a significant contribution to the profession over more than 20 years and who have helped to foster and support the next generation of rural journalists. To date the Rural Press Club has inducted four (4) individuals including -
- 2015 - Kerry Lonergan - television journalist and founder ABC TV Landline
- 2012 - Rodney Green – photographer for the Qld Country Life
- 2011 - Robin McConchie - ABC Rural Radio and Countryhour
- 2010 – the late Malcolm McCosker – former editor of the Qld Country Life
The Rural Journalism Hall of Fame award inductees are honoured in a special exhibit on display at the Australian Stockman's Hall of Fame in Longreach. The exhibit featuring the Club's iconic windmill includes a series of videos highlighting the role and contribution of professional rural journalists in communicating the issues and concerns of the bush.
